Have you successfully connected a fishfinder (specifically a Lowrance) to the accessory switch on a Montauk or other BW with an OEM switch?

My instruction manual suggests that electrical interference may occur if this is done and to connect directly to the battery.

I have my Lowrance connected to my Montauk's Accessory 1 switch. I have no electrical interference that affects the performance of the Lowrance unit. I do however have VHF radio interference from the transducer.

Thanks for the input. I'm off to West Marine to buy the disconnect and other supplies and then will begin the soldering. This morning I temporarily crimped the various wires together and to the +/- connectors and got the unit to turn on!! I will be using the accessory switch.

BTW, I'm including the 3 amp fuse that came with the Lowrance (a cheap X47ex) in the scheme of things. I'm told the accessory switch has a 10 amp fuse on it, so I'm playing it safe with this unit.
