Boy, I hope one of you folks can help me. I need to replace a Morse steering cable on my 20' 1978 Outrage and would like to purchase a new one before I pull the old one out on the water. Does anyone know for sure the length of this cable? I have some old notes that say 15', but this seems too long. I know that I can sight track it and get a close measure, but would like to get it exactly right. Also, I can't seem to find Morse controls anymore???any idea what happened to them? Would appreciate any help!!Dave Murray

Morse was bought by Teleflex, and they have all the conversion information as to what to buy.
15' sounds too short to me! I would guess more like 18-20'.
I would try to do a linear measurement on it with a sewing type tape measure.
Once you get this replacement cable priced out, go to SurplusUnlimited.com and check out their pricing on Teleflex mechanical steering systems. You may be able to buy a whole new NFB system for what you'll pay for a cable alone.
