I purchased a 13-foot Boston Whaler boat from a lady who told me it was given to her by her Dad. The prior registration states that is a 1978. SN 1125442BT026968. The [stencil] number is 26968, the same numbers that are on the prior registration. The hull has a blue interior. I cannot read the metal tag. Some numbers are not visable. I am confused as to what numbers are correct for [registration] purposes and Bill of Sale. Can any one give me the correct hull Identification number to use for [registration], year, and [model] of this hull. It is a side console, pulley steering.

Stenciled Serial Number 26968 indicates a hull made in 1968. If it has side steering then it is a 1968 Sport 13.
Whaler's in 1968 did not have metal tags (HIN tags) so what you have there is a HIN that was assigned to the hull by some state some time ago. It will not match the conventions of the usual Boston Whaler HIN.
