I purchased a 24 gallon Pate tank for my Ribbed Outrage some time ago. Unfortunately, it was damaged by UPS in transport. In the end, I got a refund for the purchase price of the tank and was left with just the shipping charges.

As this was a used tank from another forum member, I found myself very fortunate to have a tank that could likely be repaired for the sum of $35 more or less.

After sitting in my garage for a long period, I finally got around to patching the damaged corners and several cracks.

The corners were cleaned up and the surrounding area sanded with 80 grit paper on a random orbital sander.

West system epoxy thickened with micro beads was used as a filler. It worked out very well. I'll add that the epoxy was from a 3 year old opened container and that the pumps worked as they should have and provided the correct amounts for a proper cure. I had my doubts....

Once cured (several hours) it was sanded flush and degreased.

I am coating the exterior of the tank with a copolymer paint (rubber). It only came in the basic colors (white, grey and black) so I brought the white copolomer to Lowe's and they tinted it to match the hull for free.

Here it is in progress. The product requires several coats and a flat surface as it runs readily.

BTW... the tank was pressure tested and has no leaks...
