posted 03-23-2006 08:27 AM ET (US)         I am about to make some small hull repairs and was wondering if there is any urgency to covering the MarineTex patch with gelcoat or the Spectrum paste? Is it bad to put the boat in the water without the gelcoat? Will it hurt the MarineTex? I noticed that the MarineTex says it is water "resistant". Does that mean that the gelcoat material is needed to protect it from water absorption?
