I dropped lower unit from my Yamaha 70-HP two-stroke outboard motor, and I have installed water pump. I need to get manual, but have been going off what I learned here. Did I need to loosen any screws under the engine cover?? I did but I do not think it was neccessary.

Second, I have a two inch diameter o ring that I can not figure out placement for. Give me ideas.

Did I need to remove the prop?

It was not too bad at all, so far. I will also replace thermostat and plugs (after I fire it back up w/old plugs first)

Thanks-Bret

The factory service manual or even a good after-market service manual would be the first tool I would recommend to a do-it-yourself outboard mechanic.
