My SeaStar steering unit is clicking at the helm when I move the wheel back and forth. Any ideas?

Forgive me if this sounds obvious, did you check the oil level? The only time I've heard my SeaStar click is after I had taken it apart and put it to back together to replace the seals and there was no oil in the unit. There are bearings inside that may be worn by some forign substnace that got it there. I have to say these units are very well constructed and can't ever see wearing one out as long as the oil is clean and seals are changed.

There are extensive bleeding instructions on the Teleflex website.
