Topic: Thanks, for deck caulking tip!

I'm not sure who had posted about using masking tape to caulk the cockpit cover, but I would like to thank you! I just finished installing new deck plates and caulking the seams on the floor. I used color matched caulk from Twin Cities Marine and taped both sides of every seam,then laid a bead of caulk. I used a popsicle stick to wipe the joints, right after doing that I pulled up all the tape, perfect job! Total time including cleaning out seams and taping was about 65 minutes! Deck plates took longer but also came out nice...................Jack

What can one use to clean the existing chalk joints? I have scrubed this boat from hardtop to keel and the dirty joints stick out. |

Great tip. I wish I had read about the tape and the stick before I did this job without those aids! |
