thanks to great thread here, I replaced thru hull drain in bow locker on my 18' outrage. Ordered flaring tool (only had to go to lowes and get 6 inch all thread bolt, the 4 inch it came w/ was not long enough)
ordered brass tube/o rings from mcmaster.
it looks like I annealed it too much, for tube buckled just inside the hull side of tube (not locker side)
it's almost a perfect triangle shaped buckle. I plugged the locker side, filled it with water, and none leaked out of boat, so tube and o-rings are sealed.
Question is: is it ok to leave as is, even though buckled, or do I have to rip it out, and redo?

thanks guys

stefan

If the seals at each end are good, who cares?

This can also happen if the interior and exterior surfaces are not parallel planes and yet yoyu still use a flaring tool.

If top and bottom is still sealed and you siliconed the inside, etc...don't worry about it.
