If you use your kicker for trolling (or end up having to run home with it), it's nice to be able to steer from the helm. I've just set up my second 'motor connector rod', this time between a Mercury 75 hp two stroke and a Nissan 9.8 four stroke (the first time I used this set-up was between a Yamaha F115 four stroke and a Yamaha 8 hp two stroke). I strongly recommend the elegantly designed stainless Panther connector rod for this purpose. It connects to the forward parts of your motors so access is much easier than other models; it's easy to install and fits almost all large motor/small motor configurations; it doesn't involve any drilling into the motors themselves or wrapping clumsy metal straps around the motors; it slips on and off in a matter of seconds; it allows either one or both of the motors to be tilted up (or trimmed) while the rod is engaged; and is well worth the fifty bucks. You can find it through the Cabelas online catalog using the exact phrase in the search box--'motor connector rod.' Again, highly recommended.
