Topic:   Raw Water Washdown on 18 Outrage ?

posted 09-07-2007 02:54 PM ET (US)         I'm thinking about adding a raw water washdown pump to my 18 Outrage. I did a search and found some ideas on how to install. What I'm wondering is if these pumps will be okay mounted "externally". I'm planning to mount it somewhere near the splashwell, open to water splashing and such. Will they corrode quickly from the outside? I've head they break down a lot internally, maybe if I run freshwater through it after each trip it will last longer. So if anyone has mounted one unprotected from water splash, I'd appreciate a report on how they are holding up. Thanks.
