Just purchased an 11' SS with cable steering and the tension springs are shot. Ordered a new set of springs from Glen-L Marine before noting that the manual recommends a single spring installation. I'm not sure that I have enough cable to eliminate a spring. Thoughts anyone?

How much cable are you short? Can you fix it by placing a shackle on the end of the wire? or something a little longer? Why can you not use two springs?
