Simple right?
Not really.
I put on the vehicle lights to test all the lights on the trailer.
When I push the brake, the trailer brake lights do not work and the regular taillights go out.(all black)
With the vehicle lights on, I signal a L or R turn and both trailer lights turnsignals flash(alternating).
With the vehicle lights turned off, the trailer lights work fine.
Can anyone tell me whats up with this?

You have a poor ground. Use SMALL BOAT ELECTRICAL to discuss electrical problems.
