Have a 21' Outrage (1979) with a leaky thru hull drain. The copper drain tube spins and leaks. What's the procedure for removal and replacement? Where can you buy the replacement tubes?

That is a fairly easy procedure with the right tools. Here are some good prior discussions:

Tom,
thanks for all the great information. One question: Where to buy the crimping tool? Phone number or website would be appreciated.

The flaring tool (sometimes called a flanging tool) is made by Moeller. A Google search will very quickly yield any number of sources but I know that Hamilton Marine is one reliable source.

I'm a big proponant of using a large ball-peen hammer instead of a flaring tool.

As you buy it, the flaring tool only works if the plane of the hull is exactly perpendicular to the axis of the tube.

The ball peen hammer works on angled tubes (so will Tom's air-hammer version, but you need a metal lathe to make it)

My leaky tube is an angled termination on the bottom of the hull. If you follow the procedures provided in this thread, can you get a tight fight using just a ball hammer? I figure worst case you could use a hammer for the angled flange at the bootom of the hull, and then the flanging tool with some bottom wood wedges to terminate the perpendicular flange inside the boat?
