Hello,
I am trying to determine exactly what I need to adapt a binnacle throttle control on an 87 Evinrude 90hp to a 98' Evinrude 90hp. I understand there is an adapter kit, but there are two versions; one for multifunction, one without multi. Which do I need?

Being a Great Lakes owner (Saginaw?) you should contact Dave Zammitt at lockemans.com in Detroit. He is the best Mechanic you are going to find anywhere. We are just lucky to have him close to us. Knowledgeable, honest, just a great all around guy. There is a reason his shop has become our (Great Lakes Boston Whaler cruising club) club house. If you make to one of our Holiday get togethers you will see why.
Any way he is always more than willing to help a whaler owner from the site. He has a very busy shop and the best time to call and get chance to discus your needs is after 5pm but before 5:30. Really he will make time to talk when ever you call but, I have found the hour before closing is when he can afford the time. He should have everything you need and if you can not bring the boat down (people in Chicago will drive over to service their OMC/BRP motors there) he should be able to send you the parts.
