I have heard this boat is the "Black Sheep" of the Whaler line. But, I love this boat. Problem is getting information on it. I have a maintenance/ users manual that my father got with the boat, I would scan and post to all interested parties. My question is, there are 3 rubber insulated mounting bolts at the base of the powerhead, if I remove these bolts will the power head lift out of the drive unit, or is there another connection at the drive unit I can't see. There is a crack in a water jacket on the bottom of the exhaust heat exchanger. the motor needs to come out to repair it. Thanks in advance for any information.

I had a 96 Rage that had the same problem - - someone put it away without properly winterizing it and the exhaust manifold cracked.Yes, three bolts, wiring, fuel line and a hard time getting the muffler / heat exchanger off to clear the hull before you can pull the motor. The splined shaft of the right angle drive simply slides into the power head. Removal is actually quite easy and re-installation is just as easy. Repair of the exhaust manifold was done by an expert tig welder. Cost me all of $50 and held fine for 2 the 2 years I owned the boat. By the way, my kids are still mad at me for selling the Rage and getting a Montauk. |

Thank you for the reply. I am a certified Tig welder, just not a certified boat mechanic. If I can see it, I can probably weld it. Thanks again. |

Does the '94 have a Yamaha engine? If it does, I'd sure like to get a manual from you. |

I have the owner's manual for the Rage 13. You aren't missing much. It really doesn't provide much information or help on this boat. What would really be helpful if you don't have it is the Yamaha 650 Jetski manual. Even a generic version. This will conver your engine and drive system. Incidentally, parts are cheap and readily available anywhere for this system. |
