Mercury 175hp to a 200hp powerhead swap?

I bought a BW Ventura a few weeks ago. I love the boat but the motor went south, very low compression on the starboard bank. I bought it from a dealer and I called him to see if he would fix it; he said he would!! He said he had a same year (98) 200 OS and he would swap the power heads. The 200 has a longer shaft so the whole motor could not be swapped. How will this work?

I an very happy the dealer is helping me out as the boat was sold as-is.

The power head is just the engine, its sits on top of your shaft and housing, sounds like he's going to keep your shaft/housing and put the other power head on top, should fit just fine. And it is nice of the dealer unless you had some type of warranty with the boat you purchased. Either way I give the dealer a high five...good luck
