Our sailing club's 1970 16 footer sustained some damage right above the water line. we have section about 2 feet long
about 3 inches tall were the fiberglass got blasted away by
rubbing against a dock during a storm and we see foam. We don't feel qualified to do this repair ourselves so I am asking for recommendations. Cosmetics are not a concern to us as this is a work and rescue boat. thanks for your time-

Just do it yourself. You can't really screw up fiberglass.

It's just like paper mache, but more permanant.

Three years ago on my 25 Revenge WT, I had a repair done by Nauset Marine at their headquarters in Orleans, MA
It's a bit of a drive from Sharon, but not all that bad.

The repair was absolutely fantastic. You could not detect even the slightest imperfection. Service was top rate in every way, done when promised.

They earned a reputation, as they were the largest Whaler dealer in the US for many years. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
Perhaps Russo Marine in Medford is also competent, but I've never dealt with them.

Good luck

I have a guy in Jamestown who did some fantastic structural work on my sailboat and could take care of your boat at a very reasonable price...please email or reply and I will give you his info

Small world...I grew up in Canton and took my 13 classic many times on Lake Massapoag in my summer youth.

You might try Monahan's Marine in South Weymouth. They used to be a Whaler dealer many years ago. Now a Pro-Line dealer.
