I searched on this topic and could not locate the specifics of actually draining a hull. I was wondering what different techniques people use to drain waterlogged Whalers. The boat is very heavy and dense and I've got nothing but time, as I won't own the OB until February/March of next year. I stripped the boat down to a bare hull two days ago and cleaned it very well inside and out. It is upside down right now draining out of the many holes on the interior, but I'm not too sure how well this will work. Should I be using heat lamps? If so, where should I put them on the hull? Should I be drilling holes? If so, where and how deep? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

You cannot remove water from the foam core of a Whaler in any significant amounts unless you have a great deal of time. You might want to read this very long series of threads starting here: http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001747.html Then you can read a real world example demonstrating how long it may take: [url]http://continuouswave.com/whaler/cetacea/cetaceaPage67.html[/url |
