From the reference section: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/OEM.html#wood Helm Electrical Panels Many of the helm electrical panels on classic Boston Whaler boats were made by: Ultra-Panel Marine Inc. |

The process of fabricating a new electrical panel for a Boston Whaler boat is described in an article in the REFERENCE section: Conventional Gauge Rigging See the portion under the sub-heading: Fabricating New Instrument Panel A typical material for an electrical panel is aluminum. As the panel does not need a great deal of structural strength, you may find that selecting an alloy that is easily worked will be advantageous. If you are concerned about corrosion, use an alloy like 6061-T6. It has excellent resistance to corrosion. |

ABS Plastic Material is available and worked well for me when I recently replaced all the aluminum panels at the helm. Color match was good and the mat finish is a fairly good match. Very easy to work with. And it doesn't rust or get easily scratched or nicked. I purchased the material at: www.ippnet.com/EN/main/4040.html Cheers, |
