Hi. We have a 1990 Outrage 25. The livewell has a Mayfair BassPirator aerator head and a Rule 1000 bilge pump. The little switches on the aerator head have fallen off, and, while the bilge pump does in fact drain the livewell, I don't see how water would ever enter--other than rainwater. I don't see any through hull openings which would allow water to come in, and the outlet is above the water line. --Has anyone seen a BassPirator aerator head replacement which is tee shaped, about 18" wide? --should there be an water intake that I am just not finding ? We are divers but have just recently taken up fishing. Thanks |

I would love to see pictures of your livewell, as I plan to outfit my Revenge the same way. Do you have any you could post or email? On my boat, there is a thru-hull drain in the bottom of the compartment. If your boat has one, it should be easy to spot. |

Pics would go a long way towards solving your dilemma... Photobucket or picasaweb will work just fine. |

There is no built in device to add water directly into this livewell on the 25', fill it as you see fit. |

Thanks Eagleman. I was a little worried that they might have used whatever hole there might have been for the thru hull transducer... On the topic of the aerator head here are a couple of photos http://picasaweb.google.com/lhpdiver/LiveWell# I can't find anything like it on the web. |

I have the same OEM set up in my Outrage 22 Cuddy (thanks to the generous donation of parts from members at ContinuousWave). One of the valves on my "T" system was broken, and I repaired it by driving a screw into the plastic ball valve and gluing it in place with epoxy. I made a new valve handle from a scrap of teak. Mayfair is still in business, and I suspect the component parts may still be available. I would purchase a new "T" assembly if it were available. Here are some photos of my system. Note that I enlarged the holes in the plastic sump cover, and glued fiberglass window screen to the back side. This is the only way to prevent the pump from being instantly clogged with tiny fish scales when I use this as a live well for anchovies. I periodically use a bucket to add fresh seawater after pumping down the well while fishing, otherwise the ammonia content of the water rises and the bait starts dying. It's not a true live well, but it doesn't take any deck space, and it is always available if I happen upon a big ball of bait and decide to jig some up. The rest of the time I use the space to store my fenders. |

Success ! I had to go through Sweden and then Chicago but I've found a replacement. The part number for the aerator spray assembly is 90141. I paid $35 + $8 (don't have it yet). The manufacturer had me go via one of their distributors... http://www.hannaysmarine.com/ |

Bass Pro Shops sells those Mayfair aerator bars with turn valve attached. I have not seen the valve sold separately. When I had to replace both valves on mine, I bought two of these, and cut off the spray head for the one on the Port discharge overboard side, just to get the matching valve. The pump should be 500 GPH. I converted to a more compact Rule unit. |
