I was searching CW on replacements for the forward hatches on my Revenge and came across this reference from JimH.

"The original manufacturer was GRAY. Later these became BOWMAR hatches. Now they are made by POMPANETTE. A replacement hatch is now available at

http://www.pompanette.com/

The replacement part is G910---1111. This hatch lists for $216."

I currently have the Gray hatches on my boat and both locking knobs are broken off from the hatch. Although I can semi secure the hatch using the angle adjuster knob it does not make a secure watertight seal. I put lots of salt water into the cabin area this past fall when my bow went through a wave while slow trolling in 5' waves :).

Has anyone purchased and installed these replacement hatches from Pompanette? I spoke to Sue Lodel and she mentioned that they are not an exact fit and will need to have the flange modified.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Hutch

I have purchased a replacement hatch as described above. I have not installed it, yet.

Jim,

I am interested to see if they are an "exact" fit or need to have some modifications to cover the existing cutouts.

Thanks,

Hutch

Hutch,
I replaced both my forward hatches on our 1991 25' Revenge W/T with this model. I did it a four years ago, the replacement was straight forward, I replaced both of them in about a half hour. I can't recall any need for any flange modification. Several of the existing screw holes didn't match up on the replacement hatch which required new holes to be drilled. I did use the original snap in trim rings inside the v-berth area because they fit the original drop in screens better.

Thanks for the feedback. I will add these to my list. I just received the 2009 West Marine Catalog and use it as my reference. After looking through the book I now have 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of items. :0
