Wanted to post some pictures of my 25' Outrage project. I've got the boat stripped of everything. In the next few weeks I plan on adding a new 140 gallon fuel tank and replacing the rotted floor. The fun has just begun.

Your project is coming along very well. I really appreciate you posting all of those pictures. I have a 25' Outrage and I am needing to do the same thing. Would like to hear about any lessons you learn. Good luck.

well...2 1/2 months later I finnaly have the new fuel tank installed and the floor finished. It was definately a big task and its not something I want to do again! The biggest task was tearing off the old wood. Some of it was rotten and some of it was not. I ended up putting the deck plate on the ground (concrete) and using a pry bar to lift the wood off. Doing it this way let me use my legs and get alot more leverage on the wood compared to doing it with the deck plate on a table/saw horses. It went alot quicker when I did this. I actually just left it on the ground when I glued the new wood down. I used 1 piece of 1/4" and 1 piece of 3/8" marine plywood to replace the old. I put 2 pieces of fiberglass matte between the wood and 2 pieces overlapped on top. I coated my new fuel tank in about 3 coats of (roll-on) Zinc Chromate. I'll post up some pics as soon as I get them off my camera.

I am doing this exact project right now on a 1982 Outrage 25 Cuddy. Did you replace with one large tank? I have my tanks out now. Boy that was fun getting them out...lol.

Cant wait to see your pictures.

I would love to see the pictures when you get the chance. Is there a reason you went to one tank over two?

Sorry for the late response. Still pecking away at the project. Been spending the past few months stripping/sanding the paint off the inside. The previous owner painted over the top of the gelcoat. I plan to fishing the stripping and re-gel myself. I've gotten several quotes to re-gel and all were $8-10K FOR JUST THE INSIDE. I figure I can do it myself for alot cheaper and in the end have the equipment and know-how to fix any dings or scrapes. I have some pictures that I'm trying to post up.

I have the same year/model boat. BW called it a 24 Outrage. Awesome fishing boats. I'm getting ready to paint my boat and repair the decks too.

The deck job is pretty brutal. Not as brutal as stripping the paint off though...
