Has anyone set up their 13' with a jack plate for running in shallow water??
If so what results did you have??

My buddy and I both did it a while ago with 50hp motors on 13' Sports. I think the weight is just too far aft, my buddy liked it and still runs the setup today. I removed mine and just jacked my motor up as high as it would put up with. I also added an SE Sport Fin.

We duck hunted in southern Louisiana. If there was any difference in shallow water performance in our soft mud, I did not see it.

Just a side note. We "raced" in various levels of load in all kinds of conditions with no real difference in speed. Generally it was from the launch to the camp or lease, a distance of miles.

Depends on weight of your engine. With the extreme transom angle you can jack the engine all they way up on the trasom w/o a plate and try that first. I run plates on all my boats but 13's are just too weight sensitive in my opinion.
