Since my new 40 gal. internal tank is being installed on my 1973 Outrage 19 (Hull ID 00021), I am planning to install a fuel-water separator. It is powered by a 1998 Johnson Oceanrunner 150. Any suggestions on an appropriate brand, model or other specs. I know it should be a 10 micron filter, but advice from those who have gone down this path before me would be appreciated. Thanks, Tony |

I like the Racor filters like this. http://www.maesco.com/products/racor/r_gas/r_gas.html If you have enough room for the sight glass type, it's nice to see if water is in the gas and it can be drained without replacing the filter. If you boat in salt water, the stainless mounting head may be better for corrosion resistance. Mine is aluminium and it has severe surface corrosion. |
