Yesterday my [Yamaha F225 four-cycle outboard motor] started. On take off it ran roughly. It then killed and wouldn't start. After getting towed in, I called the local Yamaha outboard dealer in Slidell, Louisiana, and told him what happened. The dealer told me that sometimes with really hot weather the Yamaha F225 will vapor lock and won't get any gas.

I also have an oil leak problem, but only when the motor it tilted upward for towing. The first time towing the boat there was oil everywhere. I generally stay in hoist behind house. The last time I towed the boat only tilted motor enough to be safe from hitting something with lower unit and had no problem. Dean.
