Are Yamaha Multifunction digital gauges compatible to use with a yamaha 70 hp 2-stroke? I would like to use the multifunction tachometer which has trim angle, oil level, overheat warning, trip hours and total operating hours. This rather than buying (and wiring) three or four different ANALOG gauges. I am NOT speaking of the Command Link version. Just the standard digital. Thanks in advance. Keeper

Keeper -I navigated on the Yamaha site, selecting the accessories for the 70 hp 2-stroke and it shows the multi-function gauge you seek. Note the part number since there are 3 or 4 versions of this gauge and are slightly different. cf: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/236/ 1133/8789/all/all/3808/0/detail.aspx I would offer that you may need a different harness that bundles all the wires that the gauge needs but I am not exactly sure.Talking to a Parts manager at your local Yamaha dealer will confirm this. As for instructions, the gauge typically does NOT included them so you may need the rigging guide. |

Keeper,If you already have the same compliment of analog gauges installed the LCD gauge uses the existing harnesses. I have a couple of Yamaha Rigging manuals with PNs, gauge switch positions and wiring diagrams. If you'd like any help let us know what year your motor is. |

If you like, I have a LCD tach that will probably work for your set-up. It is one generation older than the one in Phil's post, but has all the essentials. No box, but like new. $150.00 shipped. Let me know and I can send you a pic or 2. |
