I have a Dauntless 16, and someone, somewhere on this site mentioned a ping-pong type [drain with check valve] that would work well on my boat, and would be easy to install. Anyone remember what it was, and where I could purchase it?

Thanks!

EB -

I think they were suggesting ball type scuppers.

One example:

TH Marine also produces one available many places.

I guess those scuppers work good but on the cheap I cut apart a rubbermaid lid from something and made a ring with these tabs cut into it. They are set over the flap and really have worked well for me for years. The flaps just needed a little help staying closed. Water still flows out quickly.

Just another CHEAP idea.

Just so I get this right, you cut up a plastic cover (green), took off the plastic ring with the four screws, shaped the green plastic so the two small tabs (one on the upper left, and one on the upper right) hold the original black flapper more ridgid. Is that correct?

East Bay, You are absolutely correct.
I'm cheap and ingenious. It has worked great for several years now. You could use a Cool Whip lid or a Tupperware lid. The rubbermaid one was a little thicker. Maybe 1/32 inch not quite 1/16 inch?

I got the idea from some scupper company that makes theirs look like that. I don't know the company. Saw it somewhere. It took a couple tries until it worked perfectly.
