I am considering taking off the 54-quart Igloo-brand cooler of my Dauntless and replacing it with a 45-quart Yeti-brand cooler. Does anyone have any experience with the fit of the Whaler cushion on this cooler? The dimensions of the Igloo and the Yeti are very similar. I don't want to buy the new cooler if it also triggers an expensive cushion replacement.

I would not be concerned with the cost of another cooler cushion, but rather the cooler itself. Aren't those Yeti coolers like 3 Benjamin's.

Yeti coolers are very expensive, but they seem to be worth the money. A friend of mine just replaced all of his igloo's with Yeti's and I was really impressed with the quality.

As far as the fit of the cushions go, I would think that if the dimensions are the same they would fit.

I have noticed that there is a discontinued model area of their website that has some pretty good deals.

Nice looking coolers. I noticed the rubber cushions on the bottom corners to keep the cooler in place. I would be interested if anyone knows how long they hold ice for on average.

I thought some publication recently tested these coolers against the competition....my recollection was that the ice retention was not all that great. I will try to track down the article.

I have 3 different sizes of Yeti and I have recommended them to many friends they are lifetime coolers and if prepared properly I've had them hold Ice for 10 days.

The 300 quart Fiberglass series (marine) will only set you back $1,100. They are very nice and well made.

I can buy the 45 for $ 239 at a nearby store. This is a great price. The people I know that have them love them.

I have four Yeti's. They are very high quality, hold ice very well. The Desert Tan 45Q fit nicley on a Montauk with the same color interior. http://www.yeticoolers.com/products/YETI-Tundra-%252d-45-Quart-.html
