On the deck I just use Star Brite nonskid cleaner but the bow and gunnel nonskid is what I want to protect on the Revenge 22. Searching turned up Woody Wax, Future floor wax, and just wax. I have used fiberglass wax before. It protected and looked good, but it was a little slippery especially when wet. One poster used fiberglass wax then Woody Wax. I want UV protection and some cosmetic enhancement. Anything new to try? John |

Waxing non-skid is an oxymoron. If you want it to shine, polish it but don't wax it. |

The non-skid on a whaler is a mechanically molded, high profile deformed surface, and it is that deformity that provides the traction. It is still gel coat, and as such can be waxed and polished just like any other gel coat surface. Doing so does not reduce the traction one whit, but it does help preserve the gel coat and keep it from oxidizing, and helps with keeping the "valleys" of the non-skid clean. |

Wax part and not the other and tell me it does not make it slippery. Any polish will work, what do you use today? Personally I like 3M. If you compare their automotive and their marine, you will see they use the SAME part # but charge you more for marine. |

I have not yet tried a polish, but I will. John |

Use woody per their website and there is nothing better or easier to protect yet remain non slippery. It also does a great job on the piping and metal. it eats corrosion. I have been a beleiver for 6 years - every other washing: http://www.veradoclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=28.0 |

I would second the Woody Wax recommendation. It is not a glossy finish, but it does help prevent fish blood and fishing gunk from sticking to the non skid. I also like it for the stainless and aluminum on the boat. Doug Vazquez |

Tohsgib or whoever you are- YOU wax part and don't wax part if you're so inclined; I'm not. I wax the whole thing and doing so has not and does not make it slippery. Use any good grade marine wax. I prefer Collinite. |

In the HOT Florida sun I have found Meguires # 26 wax to hold up very well & repell fish gooo. It protects well & shines nice. The paste seems to hold up better...but is harder to buff. The liquid buff's easier, but does not last as long. I agree the 3-M polish compound removes oxidation well, but to protect afterward use a good wax.. Now where is that Ka-rotty Kid to take this stuff off??? |
