BBS	posted 03-03-2010 11:54 AM ET (US)         I did a search and found some metion on the subject when the site was young, but nothing definative. The white lip inserts for my rod holders on my aftermarket leaning post are turning black. Does anyone have any ideas on a method to restore the color?
kwik_wurk	posted 03-03-2010 12:15 PM ET (US)             I have used rubber cleaners and rubbing compound, but mine are almost 30 years old and have a porous surface. But after some work and removing them from the RPS I got them looking nice for a couple summers. There are a bunch of off the shelf vinyl and plastic cleaners available. I have heard of a member having the holders re-dipped and creating a new rubber lip.
