I am currently restoring a 1964 Nauset and I have a number of hardware pieces that need to be re-chromed. Are there any vendors that you all have used that you recommend? What are the typical costs per piece?

There are lots of plating shops around. I use one here in Seattle that is excellent:

Mastercraft Metal Finishing
206-622-6380

But search your own town and see who's out here.

Expect to pay about $10 per piece.

I just had parts re-chromed for my Nauset:

New England plating does a first rate job, though a bit high on price. About $20 per piece, more for larger ones. Spring is crunch time for platers, so expect a wait.

Thanks for your replies. I am going to contact a local vendor but wanted other recommendations in case i am not comfortable with their price and/or quality.
