Hello to all. I have a 1984 Revenge 22 Cuddy with 225-HP OMC 9.9 kicker, a fair amount of gear, fuel, so overall, a pretty hefty package. My trailer, a wobble roller affair, needs a fair amount of work. The galvanized frame is great, but rollers, trucks, and hardware are pretty rusted and beat. I've always had bunk trailers for my 17-foot and smaller Boston Whaler boats, having always been told the boat should be supported by the keel due to potential hull deformation. What kind of rigs are you guys using for your boats longer than 20-feet?

To restore the trailer I have, replacing rollers and trucks, is expensive and probably not cost effective compared to new. I was, however, thinking about converting it to bunks and keel rollers which would be simple and relatively cheap.

What are your thoughts, my friends? Maybe someone has a nice rig to sell? Or shall the "Regiment Refurbish"...

Thanks for your pending and learned input,

Capt'n Dave

My REVENGE 22 W-T Whaler Drive rests on an E-Z-LOADER trailer rated for 5,800-lbs.

Convert to bunks and keel or without keel rollers if you want. Full roller trailers are what Whaler does NOT recommend. I personally do not feel keel rollers are "necessary" but they obviously can't hurt and make launching easier as long as you don't miss and take a chunk out of your keel with the roller bracket.
