Author	Topic:   Quicksilver Single Handle Repair
sam t	posted 07-22-2010 08:04 AM ET (US)         Need advice on replacing paddle trim switch (#4 on diagram). Owners manual says "pry trim switch retainer/cover from handle" , but it looks like trim piece (#5) is glued/fused solid with the handle. Local Merc dealer suggests just prying really hard and hoping the handle doesn't break. Anyone have experience with this problem? GRAND NUSSIE	posted 07-23-2010 12:35 PM ET (US)             The trim piece on my '89 Mercruiser control was held in place by two "prongs" that were part of the piece. Mine use to fall off about once a week until I spot glued itin place. Your dealer is right. Try to pry it off. Hope nobody spot glued it. Good luck. Dick
