[Give me] a baseline for [cylinder PSI reading] on a 1995 Evinrude 200-HP Ocean Pro.

Probably shouldn't post as I'm not really sure but I think that engine may be one of OMC's lower compression models. Some of OMC's V6 engines of that general era had compression in the 85-95 psi range from the factory. As always, your specific readings will to some extent be tied to your specific compression gauge. Hopefully, either "seahorse" or other member with first hand knowledge will chime in.

Will vary with gauge. Most omportant is consistency within 10-15% of each other. My 225 was 105 new with my gauge. I have seen them in the 80's but I would think 90-100 with most gauges would be great.

My 1992 Evinrude V6 3-liter 225-HP engine had cylinder PSI readings around 90-PSI.

The measurement of cylinder PSI varies with the gauge used and with other variables. More important than the precise PSI measured, no cylinder should be more than 15-PSI different from another. There is a good procedure given for making PSI measurements in

As I recall the spread of PSI readings among my six cylinders was about 9-PSI. Later, a de-carbon treatment was applied. Although I never repeated the measurement of cylinder PSI, I suspect the de-carbon treatment may have improved the results, a belief I base on the engine's improvement in running. It ran smoother and had more power after the de-carbon treatment and a carburetor synchronization.
