Recommend a good source for a new sail for my Squall. I have the original. It has a foam pad at the head of the sail so the boat does not turn turtle when it is dumped. |

A SUNFISH sail is pretty close, but, if you want exact replacement, take [the current sails] to a sail loft and get estimate. |

Usually [there are offers to sell] plenty of new and used sails on [on-line auction websites], [Suggests that one purchse a] cheap used [sail] first, then if happy buy new one. |

Squalls sail pretty terrible to begin with so if it is a tad sloppy I doubt you will lose much speed. They are also pretty hard to turtle due to design and flotation, not sure if a foam pad would actually help. I would try a Sunfish sail which can be found for dirt used. |

Try Sailrite.com>Sails>Sail Quoting. I have no idea what they will charge you, but I have ordered materials from them for many years and have experienced top notch service and quality but not always cheap. I no longer bother going elsewhere. Dick |

Most sail makers tend to make sails to order. I don't think you will find any sail makers who have existing inventory of new Boston Whaler SQUALL sails on the shelf waiting for customers to call. The boat has not been in production for decades. Any sail maker can make a new sail using the dimensions and design of your existing sail. |

Do you own a sewing machine? http://www.sailrite.com/Boston-Whaler-Squall-Lateen-Main-Kit |

Good one Tom, I would just purchase it and take it to a canvas person to do the sew job... |

Thanks for the suggestions. You guys are great. I think I'll go the route of buying the kit and having a local shop sew it. |

If I remember correctly, Sailrite will sew it for you. Not sure how much. Dick |
