Whilst applying some heat to a stuck steering tube I singed the hollow tube, that's about 1/4" OD, that appears to run to the rpm guage on the console to the O/B. Is there any advice anywhere I can go to to see how to replace the hollow tube to the outboard (it seems to join the O/B at the lower leg and shaft junction and are there any sources for the tubing?
Thanks in advance...

I think this tube connects a tiny hole in the leading edge of the lower unit to a speedometer which runs on pressure. If you don't have that gauge the tube is of no concern.

Thank you for the reply. My mistake, it does go to the speedometer. Any sources to buy replacement tubing (plastic 1/4") and any references on how to do the repair. Thank you,

The local hardware store or pet store (think aquarium) should have some tube and a splice. Just replace the damaged portion by splicing in a new piece.
