Topic:   2001 Optimax fuel pump

posted 05-24-2011 06:19 PM ET (US)         I need advice on a fuel pump for a 2001 optimax 200 had new piston put in, boat ran good high speed and low....after 20 minutes it choked a bit at 3000 rpms so I took it back to dealership.I asked how they knew it was the fuel pump and they said the mechanic just thought that was it. Does this sound right? Also, if so, would the performance increase once fixed?
