I just completed my repower/mid-life refit. She runs like a champ. https://picasaweb.google.com/104634280128026146551/ August152011#5641191920024921602 |

Looks good! How much is the Transdaptor? I kind of like the idea...Is it hollow or are there reinforcements on the section where the notch is? |

Nice, slick installation. The motor and the boat both look great. Good job, you have a beautiful classic Whaler. Enjoy! BobL |

Looks good. The adapter gives extra strength to the lifting eyes as well. |

Thanks. The transdapter was not cheap ($475) but it was easy to install and fits well. It is hollow with internal reinforcements. It is very strong and shows no sign of flexing. Overall I prefer the transdapter over building up the transom but that is just me. Stephen |

How does the plate fill the notch/void? I do like it how it includes the two lifting rings. Did the kit come with longer studs for the lifting rings or is that something you had to get like stainless-all thread. Was this a manufactured item or did you have an metal shop make it up for you? |

The transdaptor was made by Kentfab http://kentfabrications.com/Marine.html (note: This is a new url for Kentfab.). It is a stock item that they sell. It stides into the notch with a little help and through bolts. I added the lifting eyes and yes I had to buy new stainless threaded rod to fit due to the added thickness of the transdaptor. Stephen |
