Good morning all. I recently purchased a 1995 Dauntless 13 and am looking to do some repairs on the gel coat. I saw on here there is a guy at [Boston Whaler] you can e-Mail in order to get the exact colors for the boat using the hull ID. [What is this guy's] e-Mail [address]? There are just a few mincor chips in the gel coat and one or two areas where some fiberglass is showing. I am really pleased with her. I am 24 and a first time boat owner. I grew up on Lake Erie my entire life.

Spectrum gelcoat has what you need, not Whaler.

I emailed [Spectrum], and they said I need to talk to the manufacturer to get the exact gel coat colors. So I emailed [Boston Whaler] just using their form from the website; no response yet.

The best way to get the gel coat number is to call customer service with your HIN.

Phone: 1-877-294-5645 (Customer Service)
Fax: 386-423-8589
Toll Free: 1-800-Whaler 9 (1-800-942-5379)

I had to order some gel coat the other day for a [1986] Montauk and the customer service rep had the gel coat number on hand. Call Spectrum and they will quickly cross reference the gel coat number. They had a quart sitting on my doorstep two-days later. [Someone] indicated that a two-ounce patch kit will cover approximately five silver-dollar-sized areas. The next size up is a quart and prepare for sticker shock. They are about the only game in town, but have good customer service and you will have gel coat left over for future repairs.

Thank you for the information. I will try calling next week if I don't get an email response. I am just hoping it only needs a few small gel coat repairs and the rest will looked good when I buff it up.

Hey guys, I actually got a response from my email from a week ago or so. Just in case anyone needs this info in the future....

You can order Whaler gelcoats and patch kits direct through Spectrum Color...1-800-754-5516 www.spectrumcolor.com

Their part# for the interior Pantone Grey gelcoat, used on the inside of the 1995 13' Dauntless, is 2210.
Their part# for the exterior White gelcoat is 2208.

Chuck Bennett is who returned the info and his email is cbennett@whaler.com, I do believe he is the guy to answer all your gelcoat color questions.

Tohsgib - I knew spectrum gelcoat was who I needed to order the gelcoat from but I needed to know the part number for the specific gelcoat color, and spectrum didn't have that data.
