[A Mercury 150-HP Blackmax outboard engine is] having problems starting and stalling at 1,800-RPM. I changed the hoses and filter. When I hooked back up everything I noticed fuel running out of the motor and dripping down the inside of the transom. I took off the air intake cover and watched the gas pour out of the bottom right jet everytime [the engine] turns over. I know that the bottom two carburetors are where the choke operates. I have the engine level. I first thought I had a fuel restriction somewhere, however changing all the hoses and filter didn't make a difference. Any ideas?

Well Larry, I was about to think you were right when I noticed that the spring on the throttle advance had popped out of that two-part arm where it bolts to the block. I took it apart, put it back together, and tightened that main bolt. Once again [the Mercury 150-HP Blackmax] runs like a kitten. That was a first. Too many bumpy roads in Mexico I guess!
