I recently purchased a 22 Dauntless (year 2000) that came with a 15 HP 4 Stroke Yamaha outboard kicker. My problem is the last time out on Lake Huron with 4 foot waves - the trolling motor bracket cracked and needs to be replaced. Looking for your suggestions on brand and model that would work well. Thanks
Ben

Trolling motor bracket or the bracket for the 15 Yamaha? The 4 stroke needs to be put on a custom made bracket, not a light engine for the stress/torque it will put on an everyday bracket (one you purchase out of a marine store Example: Bass Pro, West Marine) The other problem is you need a type of bracket that will let you raise and let the engine tilt when not in use. Its like almost needing an engine bracket with the hydraulics either one like from Bob Machine Shop or CMC...good luck

I need the Aux motor bracket for the 15 HP 4 stroke. I agree the less expensive ones will not work - found that out the hard way.

If the custom idea gets too complicated; carefully check the specks on stainless steel brackets. The one you have may may be too light. That 15 weights about 100 lb.
Carefully decide how much lift and HP you need, and look for one. Too much lift means longer arms and more torque on the mount. Too little lift may mean you cannot tilt the engine or get the prop. deep enough. Fulton, Panther, Garelick come to mind. Newer brackets are designed for more weight for all these heavy 4 strokes.
Either way, Good Luck!

I would call these guys, they make what you are looking for and may already have a design for the Dauntless 22.
