I sometimes go alone to launch and retrailer my 20 Outrage. Climbing over the front bow rail, feeling for the winch to step on is awkward and not really safe. Climbing up and in the same way on the bow to push the boat off into the water is the same situation.

[Is there] a bolt on step that would attach to the winch upright area that would offer more secure footing while climbing in and out of the front bow area to the trailer below? Thanks in advance for any info

Only: I have seen steps on the trailers that are made for cat boats, and some sail boats, I'm sure a trailer company makes a step for your trailer. You could use a single beam boarding ladder and use large c/clamps (I think thats what there are called used for trailer axles) to bolt it to your winch stand as well....good luck

Just found this. Very interesting. It is called the Flex Step. Looks like it can be used on the side or front of a boat.

It is on the West Marine site and youtube for about $130.

Anyone used or seen this product?

That step might be a great answer. I will look at it.
On the sides of the 170 trailer, I added 4ft x 2x8s. mounted on Step brackets, WM 3703501, with square u bolts. These steps allow much better access. I was thinking of adding something else.
Easier is safer.
