Just bought a 15'. 1980 Whaler totally bare on the inside, and I mean totally bare. Floor has been completely redone and inside walls touched up also. I want to put a fiberglass console, but don't have any measurements to go by as far from the front deck to the center of the console. I have read somewhere the further back it is the better the ride. I measured out 30" and that seamed to close to the front so I moved it back to 36" and that looked a little better. I want to add a cooler in front of the console. Has anyone added a center console to their boat and could give me some suggestions and measuurements, thanx.

This is from a 1984 15' Sport CC.

Anchor locker bulkhead -> base of console = 33"
Rear of console -> leading edge of seat = 18"
Rear of console -> backrest wrap-around tube = 36"

Console is 23.5" long, measured at the base
