I'm finishing up my long project when I actually find the time. I have just a few questions, 1.) The boat has a thin layer of no-wax gel coat rolled on, must I sand before a second and possibly a third coat (third coat I will add wax), or could it be whipped with acetone?2.) I am using west system on the outer walls of the boat, mixing up clear batches with just the resin and hardener. The outside will be rolled and tipped with awlgrip. --> My question is, do I have to sand the west system before applying the primmer? 3.) Should I add nonskid to just the top layer or should I add a little in each coat?(for the gel coat and/or awlgrip thanks for any advice, Ill put up pictures and post the link later tonight

hi stokes.I have note done what you are attempting, but I have read somewhere that the nonskid is only added to the final coat. Remember, one always has to sand between coats. |

You will need to scrub the coat of West System with warm water & a scotchbrite pad to remove any amine blush prior to putting a primer over it. |
