This post is related to another topic I started 2001 "Optimax 135-HP Water Pump Replacement Procedure"After replacing the impeller and water pump kit I started the boat and usually after this particular procedure in the past the tell tale would take a bit longer than usual to get going.
This time no tell tale at all after several quick starts and stops and checking still nothing. I then removed the lower unit and pump housing and double checked my steps and they all looked good. Put it all back together fired it up and nothing again.
I tried varying the pressure at the muffs broke out the old barrel filled it and tried to no avail.
I then shut it down and removed the hoses at the top of the heads that take warm/hot water out of the system as the system is designed to and noticed the heads were indeed pumping water.
Buttoned that back up and let it run a bit longer this time continuing to watch the temperature at the heads and "block pressure" but still no tell tale. Block psi per gauge indicated 2.o - 2.2 (normal for idle) with new impeller from previous recordings and temperature at the heads never exceeded 150 but still no tell tale.
One thing I did notice was some water discharge from the exhaust port just below the flush/tell tale junction not sure if this is normal the amount of water was not very much though.
Stumped for now any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
