For a while now I have been frustrated with the storage in the bow locker of my Outrage 18. There is sufficient volume in the locker to stow my gear but having a pile of stuff in there when anchoring frequently is quite the pita.
I enlisted a friend to help me construct some custom fit compartments for the bow locker (see picture, below). The assembly is constructed from 3/4" ply and drops into the locker for a snug fit. The joints are held in place with ss screws and glue and will be glassed before we seal the wood.

The Bruce anchor sits snugly in the angled notch we cut for it. The front port side will hold the active rode and the front starboard will hold my rode extension and extra chain. Note the two notches in the front of the assembly to allow rope/chain to cross the supports while allowing clearance for the lid. The rear port side will hold something light and allow easy access to the drain plug. The rear starboard side will hold downrigger and fishing weights. There are holes in the bottom to allow all compartments to drain.
For me, this will be a huge improvement in the functionality of the bow locker. I am sharing this here in case others feel the same way.

Nice Sean. I wonder what changes you would make to have a fluke anchor fit in there?

The notches that hold the anchor would be cut differently and that would be all unless the fluke or danforth anchor was huge.
In my case, I use the Bruce for everything so I made notches specific for this type of anchor. A danforth anchor would certainly take up less room in the locker. I think Chuck Tribolet has a simple bucket solution for a danforth anchor on his Montauk: http://www.garlic.com/~triblet/whaler/04260011s.jpg
Forgot to mention earlier...I will be adding some Dri-Dek as well.

Nice idea! Have you thought about using StarBoard instead of plywood?

My first thought was to use StarBoard. However, the plywood was easier to work with and the resources (friends, tools) at my disposal were best able to work with plywood. I think once we glass the joints and seal the wood it should be plenty strong. Hope so anyway.

Nice job, it looks good. Ply with glass is ideal and will hold up well. Saturate the end grain with thinned epoxy before laminating and it will last a long time. Starboard is great stuff, but it doesn't hold self tapping fasteners that well, and it's a lot more expensive than ply! This a great solution, and it looks to be well executed.

Thanks, Andy. Plan is to glass the inside of the joints and then soak it all in thinned epoxy. I'm anxious to put the new storage compartments to use!

Irishcreamer; that is an awesome job. The fit is incredible. I would love to sit with you and ask some questions about your method to fit it so well.
What is the (Scotty?) white thing in the fwd right?
Also what is the stainless rod on the anchor rode?

Thank you, gusgus. The credit is due to my friend Kyle who executed on my vision for the bow locker. The fit is indeed snug and I think part of the trick is to fix the joints with the pieces snug in the bow locker - glue, epoxy, staples, etc.

The white item is a rod balancer with a Scotty mount ( http://www.balanceperch.com/ ) and the stainless rod is the tie bar from my kicker to the hydraulic steering on my main engine.
