Does my 2002 90 hp Mercury ELPTO have the sending sensor for tilt and trim? |

Yes. Or at least it did when it left the factory. The sending units tend to crap out in time. |

I don't think your motor has the sending unit. I have a 2000 75 ELPTO which is very similar to your motor and mine didn't come with one. Yours may still have one but I doubt it. Here are a series of pics of the one I installed. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender1.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender2.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender3.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender4.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender5.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender6.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender7.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender8.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender9.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender10.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender11.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender14.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e336/Fishgutz/Boat%20Tech%20Pics/ TrimSender15.jpg You can look near the top of the trim rod and see the sending unit as in the 6th and 7th pictures. There is already a brown wire in the wire harness that goes from the motor to the dash for a trim gauge. Repaired link. |

Mercury only factory installed the trim sender on the V-6 2-strokes. [Changed TOPIC. Please start a new thread for that topic. Thank you--jimh] |

If you have the engine in front of you, a close visual inspection should reveal if it has a TRIM sensor. I'd rely on your own observation in this case rather than speculation from people who can't see your engine. |
