I have a new to me Classic Sport 15 on a very tired trailer. In speaking to trailer dealers I am getting suggestions that range from a 1200lb to 1600 lb trailer. I want to get a well built and durable trailer but do not want it to be any larger than is required to do the job well. I am tight on garage space due to some other Whalers :)To all you Classic Sport 15 owners out there, if you have a recent trailer that you like, I would love to know the make and model of the trailer. Thanks in advance. Stephen

Call Jeff Owens of Owens and Sons, Aluminum Slide-On, after you learn everything you need to know about stainless steel hardware, LED lights, aluminum or steel wheels, etc.. Get prices from usual generic, stamped out aluminum trailers, then call Jeff for a custom trailer, built with bunks fitted to your hull and diamond plated fenders designed for you to stand on. All this will be 15% less than generics. Tell him zotcha sent you. I have two, my brother has one and my neighbor has one. Whalers, a SeaCraft and a Carolina Skiff. A pleasure to do business with. Very knowledgable. His sister Kim will answer the phone, Jeff will discuss options and his brother will build it. Located in Tampa, Florida. This will be the easiest, fully satisfied transaction you will ever experience as a B.O.A.T. (Bring Out Another Thousand) owner ;-) . zotcha. |

Stephen I doubt you need need anything more than 1200lb rating and maybe less.I have a triple axel Owens and Sons trailer and agree it is one of the best, as is their customer service. They have a web site, if shipping info is not online the phone number to call will be. However for my classic Sport 15 I use a Continental brand trailer and it works fine and has held up quite well, but I think they are also a Florida company. Have you considered used? Lots of good prices on used trailers. Chuck |

I had a 15 and went through my first trailer and then bought an aluminum Web-On, best trailer I have ever owned. When I sold the boat two years later I wanted to trade the buyer offering a brand new trailer that came with my new 17 for the Web-On, guy said he'd keep the Web-On instead.Fred |
