I am the original owner of a 2000, 23 Conquest. I recently discovered that seawater is leaking into the bilge. I have been advised that the only way sea water could be leaking into the bilge is from the through-hull connection that is used for the raw water wash down. Considering the age of the boat (12 years) I assume that all of the hoses running to and from the washdown pump should be replaced when fixing the leak coming from the through-hull connection. Frankly, I am not aware of the location of the raw water washdown pump or how to a gain access to the through-hull connection. If anyone out there has had this problem I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Specifically, I would like to know how to access the washdown pump and the through hall connection from inside the boat. Thanks for your attention to my request.

I have a 98 21'Conquest, so I don't know if this applies to your boat. My boat came with a rectangular servie hatch that is located in the splash well. I found that it leaked like a sieve. I removed the service hatch and replaced it with a custom made piece of starboard and a rubberized gasket and screwed it in place using the existing holes. Looks factory and now no more leaks.

My 1999 23 Conquest leaked from the fish box whenever the the plug was removed. The rear wall of the box is caulked and screwed to the fishbox and leaked like a sieve.

Outside of the fishbox I never noticed any water coming in from any other location.

Sorry, I forgot, yes my fish box also had a very slow leak at the aft end.

While you're at it (and if you can afford it), I would replace all the through-hulls with stainless-steel or bronze.

The scuppers and bilge outlet on my 99 230 Conquest were severely degraded by UV after only eight years.

I replaced them all with Southco stainless.

I'd also recommend checking out the self bailing lines. Over the years and freezing weather those plastic hoses can crack. When those scuppers (flaps) in the back go under water a bit, water back fills and leaks into the bilge. even at rest they can be under water a bit depending on the motor config and how much gear / gas you have on board.

Other thing that happens is the water can get in through the deck plates easily. After a good rainstorm I normally have to pump the water out of the bilge to have it relatively dry.
